Athlete metric templates are reusable collections of performance metrics -- sprint times, vertical jump, bench press, or any sport-specific measurement -- that you can apply to multiple athletes at once. Instead of configuring the same metrics for every new player, create a template and apply it across your roster.
Create a template
- Go to Athlete Metric Templates in the sidebar and click New Template.
- Fill in the basics:
- Name -- something descriptive like "Soccer Fitness Battery" or "U14 Hockey Combine."
- Description -- optional notes about when and how to use this template.
- Sport -- optionally tag it with a sport for organization.
- Click Save to create the template, then add metrics.
Add metrics
Each metric captures one measurable attribute. For every metric, configure:
- Name -- what you're measuring (e.g., "40m Sprint", "Vertical Jump", "Body Weight").
- Unit -- the unit of measurement (seconds, inches, kg, etc.).
- Direction -- whether higher is better (strength, jump height) or lower is better (sprint time, body fat %). This determines how progress trends are interpreted in charts.
Drag metrics to reorder them. The order you set here is the order they appear when recording measurements on an athlete's profile.
Set a default template
Mark one template as your default by clicking the star icon in the template list. The default template is automatically suggested when you add metrics to a new athlete, saving you a step during onboarding.
Only one template can be the default at a time. Setting a new default automatically unsets the previous one.
Apply a template to athletes
When creating or editing an athlete profile, apply a template to pre-populate the athlete's metrics. Each athlete gets their own independent copy of the metrics -- changing the template later doesn't retroactively update athletes who already have it applied.
Publish to the community
Share your templates with other coaches by publishing them to the community library:
- Open the template and click Share to Library.
- Choose visibility: Public (searchable by all coaches) or Unlisted (accessible via direct link only).
Published templates include metric names, units, and direction -- no actual athlete data is ever shared. Other coaches can preview and import your template, and you can see how many times it's been imported.
To remove a published template, toggle its visibility or unpublish it. Coaches who already imported a copy keep their version.
Import from the community
Browse templates published by other coaches from the Community section. Filter by sport to find relevant metric sets, then click Import to add a copy to your template library. Imported templates show a badge so you can distinguish them from ones you created.
Duplicate a template
Click Duplicate on any template to create a copy you can customize -- useful for creating sport-specific or age-group variations of a base template.
