Athlete Lists (previously called Groups) let you organize your athletes into meaningful segments -- by age bracket, position, skill level, or any criteria that fits your program. Lists make it faster to plan sessions, track attendance, send forms, and assign programs.
Lists were previously called Groups across the app. The feature is unchanged -- only the name -- so existing URLs, links, and saved cohorts keep working. If you're looking for the match-day squad-of-record with shirt numbers and positions, see Rosters.
Creating a List
Go to Athletes in the sidebar and open the Lists tab. Click Create List, give it a name and optional description, then add athletes. You can assign the same athlete to multiple Lists.
Use cases
- Age brackets -- U12, U14, U16 for age-specific training plans.
- Positions -- Forwards, defenders, goalkeepers for targeted drill sessions.
- Skill levels -- Beginner, intermediate, advanced for differentiated instruction.
- Squads -- First team, development squad, travel team.
Working with Lists
Session planning
When building a session, you can filter activities and set context based on a specific List. This helps you pick drills appropriate for the players who'll be at practice.
Season plans
On Club plans, you can assign athlete Lists to season plan phases. This links a phase (e.g. "Pre-season conditioning") to a specific subset of athletes, making it clear which players are targeted for each training block.
Bulk form sending
Select a List when sending athlete forms to deliver the same consent or compliance document to every member at once, rather than sending individually. See Athlete Forms for details.
Progress tracking
View aggregated metrics across a List to compare development trends, spot outliers, and identify athletes who may need additional attention.
List limits by plan

Lists vs. Rosters
A List is a flexible cohort tag -- an athlete can belong to several, and the membership has no per-squad detail attached to it. A Roster is your match-day squad-of-record, where each player carries a shirt number and a playing position that belong to that squad. Use Lists for everyday cohorts and Rosters for your competition squads.
