AI Credits: How Far Do They Go?

See what you can build with each tier's AI credits and learn how to stretch them further.

Credits power every AI interaction in Planner.coach. Cost varies by complexity -- a quick question is cheap, a full session plan with diagrams costs more. Here's what each tier's allocation lets you do.

What things cost

ActionApproximate cost
Ask a coaching question20-50 credits
Generate a drill (no diagram)50-150 credits
Generate a drill with canvas diagram100-300 credits
Generate a complete 60-minute session200-400 credits
Modify an existing drill30-80 credits

Longer conversations cost more per message because the assistant processes the full thread history each time.

What 2,000 credits gets you (Free)

  • 10-20 drill generations with diagrams, or
  • 50-100 quick coaching questions, or
  • A mix: 5-6 drills with diagrams plus 30-40 questions

Enough to plan a couple of practices per month with AI help.

What 10,000 credits gets you (Pro)

  • 50-100 drill generations with diagrams, or
  • 200-500 coaching questions, or
  • A weekly workflow: 2-3 drills, one full session plan, and a handful of questions -- every week all month

Two practices per week? You have more than enough credits for every single one.

What 20,000 credits gets you (Club)

  • 100-200 drill generations with diagrams, or
  • Enough for 3-4 coaches each generating drills and plans throughout the week

In team mode, all AI interactions draw from the team owner's pool, so Club credits cover multiple coaches working simultaneously.

A week in practice

Say you coach three sessions per week:

  • Monday: Generate a 60-minute session plan (300 credits), tweak two drills (120 credits)
  • Wednesday: Generate 2 new drills with diagrams (400 credits), ask about progression (40 credits)
  • Friday: Reuse Monday's session with modifications (80 credits)

Weekly total: ~940 credits. On Pro, that's four full weeks with credits to spare.

Tips to stretch your credits

Be specific upfront. "Create a 15-minute 3v2 transition drill for U16 basketball, half court, fast break finishing" gets a usable result in one shot. Vague prompts lead to follow-ups that cost extra.

Start fresh conversations. A 20-message thread costs significantly more per message than a new conversation. Switch topics? New thread.

Modify instead of regenerating. "Add a defender to this drill" costs far less than generating a new drill from scratch.

Save credits for what AI does best. If you just need court dimensions, search the web. Use credits for drill generation, session planning, and diagrams.

Pro: Following the tips above, 10,000 Pro credits typically cover a full season of drill and session generation without running out. Compare plans
