AI-Generated Drills

Use the AI coaching assistant to generate activities with visual diagrams from a text description.

3 min readUpdated Apr 14, 2026

The AI coaching assistant can create complete activities -- including setup instructions, coaching points, and a visual diagram on the canvas -- from a plain-language description. Instead of building drills from scratch, describe what you need and let the assistant do the heavy lifting.

Open the AI panel

Click the AI Coach button in the bottom-right corner of the screen (or in the sidebar) to open the chat panel. The assistant is available from any page, but it works best when you start from the Activities section so it can save the generated drill directly to your library.

Describe what you need

Give the assistant enough context to generate a useful drill. Include:

  • Sport -- the sport you are coaching.
  • Age group / level -- e.g., U14, varsity, recreational adult.
  • Focus area -- the skill or tactical concept the drill should develop (passing, shooting, transition defense, etc.).
  • Number of players -- how many athletes will participate.
  • Duration -- how long the drill should run.
  • Constraints -- available space, equipment limitations, or any special requirements.

The more specific you are, the better the output.

Example prompts

  • "Create a passing drill for U14 soccer with 4 players, 10 minutes, using half a pitch."
  • "Design a power play breakout drill for bantam hockey with 5 forwards and 2 defensemen."
  • "Give me a 3v2 fast break drill for high school basketball that focuses on finishing at the rim."
  • "Build a warm-up agility circuit for 20 rugby players using cones and ladders, 8 minutes."

Review the result

The assistant generates the activity with all fields filled in and places a diagram on the canvas. Review the output carefully:

  • Check that the setup instructions match your available space and equipment.
  • Verify player positions and movement paths on the diagram.
  • Read the coaching points to make sure they align with what you want to emphasize.

If something is off, tell the assistant what to change. You can ask it to adjust player counts, swap the surface, simplify the movement pattern, or add a progression. The assistant will update the activity and diagram in place.

Accept and save

When you are satisfied with the drill, click Accept to save it to your activity library. From there you can drag it into session plans, make manual edits, or share it as a community template.

Credit usage

Each AI interaction consumes a variable number of credits depending on the complexity of the request and the length of the response. Generating a drill with a diagram typically costs more credits than a simple text answer.

Your plan includes a monthly credit allotment: 2,000 on Free, 10,000 on Pro, and 20,000 on Club. You can purchase additional credit packs at any time.

Pro: Running low on credits mid-season? Pro gives you 10,000 per month — enough to generate drills for every practice. You can also buy credit packs any time.

For a full breakdown of how credits work, see Credits Explained.
