Sharing, Email & PDF Export

Share session plans via link, email summaries to athletes, and download print-ready PDFs.

2 min readUpdated Apr 17, 2026

Once you've built a session plan, Planner.coach gives you several ways to distribute it -- share a link, email it to athletes, or download a PDF for the clipboard.

Click the Share icon on any session to generate a public link. Anyone with the link can view the full session plan -- phases, activities, diagrams, and coaching notes -- without needing an account.

Logged-in coaches who view a shared session can clone it into their own workspace as a starting point for their own planning.

You can revoke a share link at any time to remove public access.

Email a session summary

Send a formatted session summary directly to an athlete's inbox. This is useful for pre-practice preparation or post-session review.

  1. Open a session and click the Email icon.
  2. Select an athlete from the list. Only athletes with an email address and email opt-in enabled appear as recipients.
  3. Click Send. The athlete receives a branded email with:
    • Session title, date, and total duration
    • Session notes
    • Each activity with its thumbnail, title, duration, and coaching notes
    • A personalized greeting using the athlete's name and position
    • Your coach signature and logo (if configured)

Email session summaries are available on Pro and Club plans. Free accounts see an upgrade prompt.

Email a progress report

From an athlete's profile, click Send Report to email a progress report. The report summarizes recent metric measurements, attendance trends, and any notes you've added -- ready for players, parents, or support staff.

Progress reports require Pro or Club and the athlete must have email opt-in enabled.

Email a training program

Assigned training programs can be sent to athletes by email. From the program detail page, select an assigned athlete and send them a summary of their workout schedule, exercises, and completion progress.

Download a session as PDF

Click Download PDF on any session to generate a print-ready document. The PDF includes:

  • Session metadata (title, date, duration, number of activities)
  • Session notes in a highlighted box
  • All activities organized by phase, with:
    • Canvas diagram thumbnails
    • Setup instructions, execution steps, and coaching points
    • Equipment summary
  • Page numbers and automatic page breaks

Pro and Club plans include your coach logo in the PDF header and remove the watermark. Free plan PDFs include a small "Created with planner.coach" watermark.

Tip: Print the PDF and bring it to practice so you can follow the plan without pulling out your phone. The layout is optimized for paper.
