Activity Library

Browse a searchable library of ready-made drills and activities, filter by sport, category, and difficulty, then import them into your coaching toolkit.

3 min readUpdated Apr 17, 2026

The Activity Library is a collection of pre-built drills and exercises you can browse, preview, and add to your own activity collection in one click. Instead of starting every drill from scratch, find a proven template and customize it to fit your team.

Browse the library

Go to Activity Library in the sidebar. Every template shows a card with its title, sport, difficulty badge, and a thumbnail of the canvas diagram.

Filter the library to find what you need:

  • Sport -- Narrow results to a single sport. The dropdown shows only sports that have templates available.
  • Category -- Filter by drill type. Categories are sport-specific -- for example, hockey shows skating, shooting, stickhandling, and passing, while soccer shows dribbling, crossing, possession, and set pieces.
  • Difficulty -- Choose from Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Elite. Difficulty badges are color-coded so you can scan the grid at a glance.
  • Search -- Type a keyword to search across titles and descriptions.

All filters combine together, so you can search for "2v1" within soccer offensive drills at the intermediate level. Clear individual filters or reset them all at once.

Preview a template

Click Preview on any card to open a detailed view. The preview includes:

  • A full canvas visualization of the drill layout
  • Skill focus tags (e.g., forward skating, wrist shot, transition play)
  • Setup instructions, execution steps, and coaching points
  • Equipment needed
  • Suggested duration and player count
  • Age group suitability
  • Variations with difficulty modifiers

Use the preview to decide whether the drill fits your session before importing it.

Import a template

Click Use on a template card or from the preview panel. Planner.coach creates a new activity in your personal library pre-filled with all the template data -- title, description, canvas diagram, coaching points, equipment list, and tags. You're taken straight to the activity editor where you can rename it, tweak instructions, or adjust the diagram to suit your players.

Imported activities are yours to edit. Changes you make don't affect the original template.
